ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, announced that a Pakistan delegation is set to visit China in early May 2024 to bolster ties and fast-track the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Highlighting economic challenges, he emphasized the need for borrowing to manage debt repayments and sustain government operations, advocating for an export-led growth strategy. He projected Pakistan’s economy to potentially reach $1.2 trillion by 2047 with 5% growth, $2 trillion with 7%, and $3 trillion with 9%. Stressing digital transformation’s significance, he underscored the impending revolution in how we live and work, urging Pakistan to prioritize automating public sector processes.
