ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof Ahsan Iqbal eulogized China’s continued support for Pakistan, saying Beijing had been supporting infrastructure development since President Xi Jinping during his visit to Islamabad in 2014 announced investing $46 billion under CPEC. He made these remarks while speaking at a high-level dialogue, “CPEC-Green Development” organised by SDPI. He said that the upcoming projects between Pakistan and China would be based on the green economy and in energy sectors as the present government is planning for renewable energy projects. He added Pakistan is ready to prioritize those projects which favour and promote the green economy. On the occasion, China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong said the focus of Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC was on sustainable initiatives in green infrastructure, green energy, green finance and modern agriculture.
