ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to withdraw the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2023, after journalists’ association voiced concerns, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday. The decision came during a meeting of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting, chaired by Senator Fouzia Arshad, on the proposed amendments under the new Pemra law that redefined “disinformation”. ISLAMABAD – The country earned US $935.1 million by providing different travel services in various countries during the first eleven months of the fiscal year 2022-23. This shows a growth of 86.99 per cent as compared to the US $500.1 million worth same services provided during the corresponding period of the last fiscal year 2021-22, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
