Consul General Yang Yundong attended and delivered a speech at the seminar under the theme of “Upholding Original Aspiration of Establishing Diplomatic Relations, We Forge Ahead for a Shared Future” in celebration of 73rd anniversary of China and Pakistan diplomatic relations. More than 50 representatives from Pakistan’s diplomatic, think tank, academic, media and business communities attended the event.
CG Yang reviewed the history of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, spoke highly of the achievements between the two countries, appreciated Pakistan’s firm support on Taiwan and other issues concerning China’s core interests, and gave an in-depth introduction to the historical context of the Taiwan question and the historical and legal basis that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one and the same China, and expounded China’s position of strongly opposing Taiwan independence forces relying on foreign countries and force to seek independence and allow no foreign interference in China’s internal affairs.
All participants spoke highly of the iron-clad friendship between China and Pakistan, thanked China for the support for Pakistan’s economic and social development, and said that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory, and will not waver from the firm commitment to the one-China principle and firmly support all efforts made by the Chinese government and people to realize national reunification.
