ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday called for the comprehensive resumption of trilateral cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea with an open attitude and transparent measures in line with the principle of non-exclusivity and non-discrimination.
Li made the call in his opening remarks at the ninth Trilateral Summit Meeting between China, Japan and South Korea in Seoul, South Korea on Monday.
The Chinese premier stressed that China, Japan and South Korea should regard each other as partners offering opportunities for development, and uphold economic globalization and free trade. He expressed firm opposition to protectionism, decoupling and turning economic and trade issues into political games or security matters.
He said that the purpose and original aspiration of China-Japan-South Korea cooperation is to promote development, strengthen East Asian cooperation, and maintain regional and world peace and prosperity.
The three countries should properly handle sensitive issues and differences, and take care of each other’s core interests and major concerns, Li stated.
