ISLAMABAD (PEN) : National Assembly session has been summoned today (Thursday) to start debate on Federal Budget 2024-25 whereas the opposition has decided to stage a strong protest during the session.
According to details, the National Assembly session will start at 5:00pm. A two-point agenda has been issued for today’s session.
Sources said that the debate on the budget 2024-25 will begin in the National Assembly from today, and the finance bill will be presented for approval during the current session.
Following the parliamentary tradition, Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub will kick-start the budget debate and expected to criticize the government’s economic policies and taxation system.
According to the sources, the discussion on the budget will continue for a week and there is a proposal continue the meeting on Saturday and Sunday also. Sources also informed that the government will get the approval of the budget from the National Assembly on June 29.
