ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, has chosen Karachi as the venue for the annual 10-day Muharram congregations, known as Ashara Mubaraka. Earlier this month, both the Pakistani government and the Dawoodi Bohra community in Pakistan extended an official invitation to Saifuddin to conduct the sermons in the country.
Ashara Mubaraka spans 10 days and is dedicated to commemorating Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his grandson Imam Husain (RA), and their family and companions. This period is revered for their courageous stance in upholding values of justice, truth, and humanity.
Shabbir Harianawala, a coordinator from the Karachi Dawoodi Bohra community, shared details on the preparations, stating that more than 80,000 Dawoodi Bohras from Pakistan and around the world are anticipated to participate in the Ashara Mubaraka congregation. He emphasized that they are collaborating closely with government authorities and local organizations, including neighbors, to ensure the comfort and well-being of all attendees during their stay in Karachi. The goal is to create a hospitable and pleasant environment for everyone involved in the event.
