PTI leader Omar Ayub has announced that despite the authorities’ suspension of the No-Objection Certificate (NOC), their scheduled public gathering in Islamabad will proceed as planned, as per ARY News. Ayub emphasized that PTI had obtained permission from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to hold the gathering and asserted that government actions aimed at thwarting their political activities would not deter them.
He accused the government of acting out of apprehension and attempting to obstruct the rally. Ayub confirmed that preparations for the event were underway, with party workers assembling to participate.
Earlier in the day, the Islamabad Chief Commissioner suspended PTI’s NOC for the gathering following a meeting where security agencies expressed concerns over potential risks associated with the event. The decision to suspend the NOC was justified as necessary to maintain law and order in the city, with authorities emphasizing the priority of citizen safety.
The district administration had initially granted PTI permission to hold the public gathering near Tarnol Chowk on July 6, which was subsequently challenged in the Islamabad High Court. Following the issuance and subsequent suspension of the NOC, the court disposed of the petition related to the NOC issuance.
