ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan experienced a 3.11% decline in motorcycle sales during FY2023-24, as reported by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA). Total sales dropped to 1.15 million units, down from 1.19 million in the previous fiscal year.
Notably, June 2024 saw an annual sales increase of 8.38%. However, there was a significant month-on-month decline of 24.34%, highlighting the market’s volatility.
This decline marks the third consecutive fiscal year of falling sales, with figures reaching nearly a 10-year low in FY24. Production trends reflected similar challenges, with a total of 1.15 million motorcycles and three-wheelers produced in FY24, a decrease of about 3% from FY23. In June 2024, production hit 87,844 units, showing a 9.94% increase compared to June 2023, but a substantial 27.14% drop from May 2024.
From July to April 2023-24, a total of 941,406 motorcycles and three-wheelers were sold, compared to 1,006,839 units during the same period in the previous fiscal year, according to PAMA.
