ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In a significant development the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the interim bail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders until August 6, related to the ongoing cases concerning the Jinnah House attack and arson incidents.
Judge Khalid Arshad, who presided over the hearing, directed the police to complete their investigation and provide a final report. The court’s decision reflects the ongoing scrutiny and legal processes surrounding these high-profile cases.
During the proceedings, Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI’s founder, requested an exemption from attending the court, a request that was also made by fellow PTI members Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry. Their absence highlights the personal and professional challenges facing the party’s key figures amid these legal battles.
Several other PTI leaders, including Umar Ayub, Zain Qureshi, Azam Swati, Musarrat Cheema, Jamshed Cheema, and Farhat Abbas, appeared in court, underscoring the gravity of the situation and the collective effort to navigate through these turbulent times.
The extension of bail and the court’s directive for a thorough investigation illustrate the complex and ongoing nature of the legal issues faced by PTI leaders, reflecting both the personal and political dimensions of the current crisis.
