ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) has successfully completed its testing and commissioning phase, following a detailed three-month process that began on April 15. This involved rigorous checks of the entire infrastructure, including runways, electrical systems, and security features, ensuring compliance with design requirements and operational efficiency. The NGIA, a flagship project of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor costing Rs. 60.208 billion, is set to become Pakistan’s largest airport. It will handle both domestic and international flights and will operate under an open sky policy, capable of accommodating aircraft such as the Airbus A-380 and Boeing B-747.
