ISLAMABAD (PEN) : As the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) moves into its second phase, Gwadar is set to become a major international trade hub. The completion of several key CPEC projects highlights this transformation, including the new Gwadar International Airport ($230 million), the East Bay Expressway ($179 million), Gwadar Port ($300 million), the China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital ($100 million), the Gwadar Vocational Training Center ($10 million), the Gwadar Water Desalination Plant ($12.7 million), Free Zones 1 and 2 (2,281 acres), and the Green Palms Gwadar Housing Scheme (1,065 acres). These initiatives emphasize Gwadar’s strategic importance in enhancing regional connectivity and driving economic growth under the CPEC initiative.
