ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Mushahid Hussain Syed, former chairman of Pakistan’s Senate Defense Committee and chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, emphasized the significant impact of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on economic growth and bilateral ties between China and Pakistan. Reflecting on his interactions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Syed praised these initiatives as vital for regional development and cooperation. He highlighted China’s $26 billion investment in CPEC projects in Pakistan, which generated electricity, built infrastructure, and created jobs. Syed, honored with multiple awards for his contributions to China-Pakistan relations, lauded the BRI as the 21st century’s most significant diplomatic and developmental initiative.
