ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Mustafa Kamal of MQM expressed his disapproval of the events that unfolded in Parliament the previous night. “I could not endorse what happened in the Parliament last night,” Kamal said, underscoring his discontent with the situation.
He urged Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to fulfill his role as the guardian of the house and address the troubling episode. Kamal also questioned the democratic integrity of the speeches made during the public meeting, and criticized the rhetoric against institutions, their leaders, other political parties, and women.
Kamal emphasized that escalating madness only begets more madness, urging those in power to recognize this reality. He advised PTI to maintain its popularity without resorting to disparagement of others.
“No one here has been an angel; each has their own history,” he acknowledged. Kamal called on both the government and the opposition to hit the brakes and work towards consensus for the sake of the nation.
