ISLAMABAD (PEN) : President Asif Ali Zardari has called on the nation to embrace Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s core principles of “unity, faith, and discipline,” highlighting their enduring importance as a guiding light for the country’s growth and development.
In his message on the 76th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam, observed annually on September 11, President Zardari expressed confidence that by following Jinnah’s teachings, Pakistan can achieve strength and prosperity.
He paid heartfelt tribute to Jinnah, acknowledging the profound debt the nation owes him for his pivotal role in establishing a separate homeland where Muslims of the subcontinent could live with dignity and enjoy their political, cultural, and religious rights.
Describing Jinnah as a visionary leader who united the Muslims of India under a common cause, President Zardari emphasized the pride the nation feels in Jinnah’s relentless efforts and steadfast commitment to self-determination, which shaped the future of millions.
The President noted that Jinnah’s vision for Pakistan was deeply democratic, advocating for a state where all citizens, regardless of their religion, would be equal under the law. Jinnah’s struggle laid the foundation for Pakistan’s democratic system and continues to inspire our pursuit of parliamentary democracy and communal harmony.
He praised Jinnah for navigating the complex political landscape of India with unwavering dedication to Muslim rights, and for his foresight in envisioning a Pakistan grounded in democratic and socio-economic justice.
“Jinnah’s remarkable will, tireless work, and effective advocacy made the partition of India a reality. Today, we honor his legacy and reaffirm our commitment to the values and ideals he championed,” President Zardari concluded.
