ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Board of Investment and China’s RUYI Shandong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop international-standard textile parks in Sindh and Punjab. This project, aimed at boosting Pakistan’s textile exports by up to $5 billion and creating up to 500,000 jobs, follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China. The parks will operate as zero-carbon, automated facilities, powered by solar energy. Construction is set to begin by the end of the year, with investment expected from around 100 Chinese textile firms. A special committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, will monitor progress.
