ISLAMABAD (PEN) : A private school in Karachi has taken a groundbreaking step by introducing Pakistan’s first AI-powered teacher, a move that marks a significant advancement in the country’s educational system. The AI teacher, named Ainee, was launched at a school in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi.
Ainee is designed to assist students in subjects like mathematics, science, and languages for class 5. She is equipped to respond to students’ questions, monitor their progress, and adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning pace, offering a more personalized and interactive educational experience.
This innovation is part of a broader trend of using artificial intelligence to address real-world challenges in Pakistan. Earlier in October, another AI initiative, the Heart Line Chatbot, was launched to help combat hypertension, a condition affecting 32.5 million people in the country. The chatbot, developed as part of the Discovering Hypertension project, guides patients from basic information to treatment options, providing much-needed support in a country where only 11% of people with hypertension have their condition under control.
Both initiatives reflect the growing role of AI in providing tailored solutions, whether in education or healthcare, aiming to improve the lives of millions in Pakistan.
