ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The government informed the National Assembly that under CPEC, 43 projects worth $24.703 billion have been completed, while eight projects of $759.56 million are ongoing across Pakistan, including Gwadar Free Zone Phase-II, Rashakai and Bostan SEZs, and flood-affected infrastructure rehabilitation. The Finance Ministry reported a significant 79% reduction in the current account deficit to $217 million in two months, citing robust remittances and stable exports. Gwadar Port is fully operational, handling various cargo types and supporting transit trade with Afghanistan. Additionally, Rs338 billion has been collected as advance tax from mobile phone bills over five years, adjustable under the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
