ISLAMABAD (PEN) : President Asif Ali Zardari met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where they discussed bilateral relations, regional and international issues, and ways to expand their partnership. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to mutual support and highlighted the time-tested Pakistan-China friendship. President Zardari praised China’s development under President Xi’s leadership and lauded the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a model of beneficial cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. They emphasized enhancing people-to-people ties and cultural exchanges, with President Zardari inviting President Xi to visit Pakistan. The meeting concluded with the signing of MoUs in areas like science, technology, media, energy, and socio-economic development, followed by a dinner hosted by President Xi.
