ISLAMABAD (PEN) : On Thursday, the Lahore High Court directed the Lahore Deputy Commissioner to make a decision on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8.
The hearing was overseen by Justice Farooq Haider, who considered the petition filed by PTI’s Punjab Chief Organiser, Aaliya Hamza. During the session, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and Lahore Deputy Commissioner Syed Moosa Raza were present in court.
The Deputy Commissioner presented a report addressing PTI’s planned rally. In the report, he highlighted that a cricket match was already scheduled for February 8 in Lahore, and that the ongoing Horse and Cattle Show could potentially affect the rally’s logistics and crowd management.
