ISLAMABAD (PEN) : During his official visit to Pakistan, Maldives Chief of Defence Staff Major General Ibrahim Hilmy met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The discussion focused on strengthening defense ties, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of expanding their existing cooperation, particularly through military engagements and joint initiatives, as noted in a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Major General Ibrahim Hilmy expressed his admiration for the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, recognizing their remarkable achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, a well-drilled tri-services contingent gave the visiting dignitary a formal “Guard of Honour” to mark the occasion.
