ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Rafael Mariano Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), recently visited the Chashma power plant, where Unit 5 is currently under construction.
During his visit, Grossi praised Pakistan’s nuclear power program, calling it “one of the most successful nuclear power generation programs” globally. He highlighted the vital role nuclear energy plays in creating a more sustainable, low-carbon future for electricity generation.
In addition to his remarks, Grossi also had the honor of inaugurating a new radioactive waste incinerator at Chashma, a significant step toward improving safety and efficiency at the plant.
