ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has emphasized the importance of strictly enforcing the one-dish law at weddings throughout the province.
Expressing concern over the increasing disregard for this regulation, the Chief Minister has directed all deputy commissioners to ensure the law is followed rigorously. This includes marriage events held at farmhouses and on private properties.
To discourage violations, hefty fines will be imposed. The Chief Minister highlighted that serving more than one dish at weddings creates unnecessary social pressure and adds to the financial strain on families. She stated, “The extra dishes at these events not only affect society but also become a burden on parents.”
Maryam Nawaz further made it clear that if any violations occur, the responsible deputy commissioner would be held accountable.
