ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic cooperation and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, and commerce.
This shared resolve was highlighted during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Abdul Karim El-Khereiji, in New York. The discussions highlighted the vast investment potential in Pakistan and emphasized the importance of strengthening their partnership for mutual benefit and regional stability.
Ishaq Dar expressed admiration for the long-standing ties between the two nations and reassured Saudi Arabia of Pakistan’s strong dedication to enhancing both economic and security cooperation. He praised Saudi Arabia’s significant achievements under visionary leadership and acknowledged the Kingdom’s crucial role in fostering peace and security, both regionally and globally.
The two leaders also touched on the evolving situation in the Middle East, particularly the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank. They called for the full implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, the provision of vital humanitarian aid, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts. They emphasized the need for progress toward a peaceful two-state solution.
Additionally, both leaders highlighted the essential role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in addressing critical issues facing the Muslim Ummah.
