ISLAMABAD (PEN) : A parliamentary delegation, led by Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev in Baku to discuss the deepening of bilateral relations and to exchange views on the current regional situation.
During the meeting, Senate Chairman Gilani spoke warmly about Pakistan’s longstanding ties with Azerbaijan, emphasizing the strong bonds the two nations share. He highlighted the religious, cultural, and historical ties that unite the two countries, reflecting on the deep connection between their peoples.
Gilani expressed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its relationship with Azerbaijan, underlining that both nations are dedicated to fostering closer collaboration in the years ahead.
The Senate Chairman also shared his belief that high-level exchanges between the countries would greatly enhance public diplomacy and understanding, bringing the two nations even closer.
Additionally, Gilani took the opportunity to inform President Aliyev about Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council, pointing out the promising investment opportunities in various sectors of Pakistan, including agriculture, energy, and mining. His message underscored Pakistan’s readiness to build stronger economic ties with Azerbaijan, inviting greater cooperation and investment for mutual growth.
