ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In a candid conversation on Asim Yar Tiwana’s Star and Style, actors Zara Noor Abbas and Imran Abbas shared their perspectives on resisting public pressure and staying true to oneself while navigating the glamorous yet demanding world of showbiz.
Zara, who is known for her natural presence both on and off screen, discussed the constant attempts by industry insiders to mold actors into their ideal image. “When you enter this industry, people often try to change you to fit their comfort zone,” Zara explained. “But true success comes when you remain authentic and stay connected to your roots.”
Imran echoed Zara’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of embracing natural beauty and staying grounded in an industry that often emphasizes perfection. Speaking about his youthful appearance, the Amanat actor addressed rumors about cosmetic surgeries. “People always ask if I’ve had work done,” he said, “but it’s nothing like that. The secret to staying young is simple—think young, and it will reflect on your face and in your personality.”
Imran also shared his personal approach to health and wellness. “Yes, I maintain a strict diet, but the mindset is key. If you believe you are young, it changes your whole body,” he said. Despite pressure from within the industry to alter his image, Imran remains committed to staying true to himself. “I have never tried to change who I am, even in my acting. Some have asked me to speak in a deeper voice, but I always refused because it wouldn’t be comfortable for me,” he explained.
Zara, who is currently on a break from acting to focus on motherhood, praised Imran for his authenticity, saying, “My family, especially my Khala Bushra Ansari and Amma Asma Abbas, adore Imran—not just for his talent, but for his genuine heart. There’s no pretense, no lies.”
As a first-time mother, Zara is focusing on her YouTube show What MomSense?!, where she invites other celebrity moms to share their experiences. Imran, on the other hand, recently starred in Jee Ve Sohneya Jee (2024), a cross-border love story, continuing to make his mark in the entertainment industry.
Both actors emphasize that staying true to oneself, despite the pressures of the industry, is the key to long-lasting success and personal happiness.
