ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has marked a historic moment with the unveiling of the trophy for its 10th edition, named “Luminara,” in the Arabian Sea. This extraordinary ceremony not only symbolizes the league’s progress but also reflects its commitment to innovation, resilience, and excellence in the world of cricket.
Luminara: A Masterpiece of Craftsmanship
The “Luminara” trophy stands as a remarkable piece of design, crafted from a single sheet of solid silver. Weighing 10 kilograms, the trophy is adorned with 22,850 high-lustre zircon stones, representing the stars, energy, and competitive spirit of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL). The name “Luminara” comes from the Latin words ‘luminare’ (torch) and ‘lumens’ (light), symbolizing the league’s decade-long journey and its role in lighting the path for cricketing excellence and entertainment in Pakistan.
Unveiling in the Arabian Sea
In an unprecedented move, the PSL unveiled its trophy in the waters of the Arabian Sea. A professional diver, assisted by the Pakistan Navy, retrieved a treasure chest from the deep sea and handed over the trophy to PSL stakeholders in Karachi. The ceremony, a breathtaking spectacle, emphasized the league’s growth, depth, and its unwavering spirit of pushing boundaries. The event was attended by officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), franchise representatives, and cricketers, generating excitement for the upcoming PSL X.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi expressed his pride in the event, stating, “The unveiling of ‘Luminara’ at sea is a testament to the league’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The 10th edition of the PSL will take place across four cities—Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi—from April 11 to May 18.
