ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, until April 15. The case pertains to her involvement in the November 26 protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Bail Extended in Protest Case
The hearing took place on Saturday, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Amir Zia. Bushra Bibi’s counsel had filed a plea seeking exemption from her appearance in court and requested to be made a part of the ongoing investigation. The court granted the plea and extended her interim bail until the next hearing in mid-April.
Bibi is facing charges under Section 144, along with several other sections, in connection with the protest that occurred on November 26. The case was registered at the Ramna Police Station in Islamabad.
Request for Investigation Inclusion
During the court proceedings, Bibi’s lawyer reiterated that she wished to cooperate fully with the investigation and become part of the ongoing process. The court’s decision to extend her bail until April 15 comes after careful consideration of her application and the legal arguments presented.
The case against Bushra Bibi is part of the broader legal actions involving the leadership of PTI, following a series of protests and political unrest across Pakistan.
Ongoing Legal Matters
As the legal process continues, Bushra Bibi’s case remains under scrutiny, and her bail extension provides more time for the investigation to unfold. The outcome of this case could have further implications for the political and legal dynamics surrounding PTI leadership.
