ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Security forces successfully thwarted a series of terrorist attacks across various districts in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province overnight, responding swiftly to multiple incidents.
Attack in Lakki Marwat
In Lakki Marwat district, militants targeted the Sarai Gambila police station late at night. Authorities reported that the attackers were spotted using night vision equipment, prompting a quick response. An exchange of gunfire ensued, after which the assailants retreated, leaving the police station unscathed.
Incident in Khyber
In Khyber district, a separate attack took place near the Jamrud Bypass. Armed individuals opened fire, injuring two security officers. The authorities responded immediately by sealing off the area and launching an extensive search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. The injured officers were swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment, but no further updates on their condition have been provided.
Tank District Attack
Meanwhile, in the Tank district’s Mandi area, unknown attackers struck a police checkpoint. Security forces responded with retaliatory fire, forcing the assailants to flee without any reported casualties on either side.
