ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In a significant development to boost bilateral ties between Pakistan and China, the Guangzhou Tianhe Software and Information Industry Association and E-commerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. have formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in the fields of e-commerce and information technology (IT), with a focus on promoting the upcoming ITCN Asia 2025 trade fair, a key event for the IT and e-commerce sectors.
The MoU was signed in a ceremony attended by Muhammad Imran, the Acting Consul General & Trade & Investment Counsellor, who underscored the importance of the partnership in fostering deeper Pakistan-China cooperation. He noted, “This strategic partnership reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the ties between our countries in the realms of technology and commerce, thus facilitating growth in trade and investment.”
ITCN Asia 2025, scheduled to take place from May 9-11, 2025, in Lahore and Karachi, is poised to be one of the most prominent trade fairs in the region, drawing significant participation from industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and technology experts. This collaboration between the Chinese and Pakistani organizations will play a pivotal role in attracting global stakeholders and facilitating discussions around digital innovation and cross-border e-commerce.
The Guangzhou Tianhe Software and Information Industry Association, often referred to as the “Silicon Valley” of Guangzhou, is recognized for its role in driving technological advancements and fostering innovation in the region. The association’s efforts have been key to boosting China’s digital economy and supporting international collaborations in the tech space.
Meanwhile, E-commerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. has established itself as a leading organization in Pakistan’s e-commerce sector, organizing large-scale trade events and playing a vital role in advancing the country’s IT infrastructure. The organization is particularly known for its contributions to ITCN Asia, which has become a significant platform for networking and business development in Pakistan’s IT and e-commerce industries.
Both organizations are optimistic that this partnership will lead to greater innovation, investment opportunities, and enhanced commercial relations between Pakistan and China. The collaboration not only aims to elevate Pakistan’s position as a hub for digital innovation but also seeks to strengthen its role in the global e-commerce landscape.
