ISLAMABAD (PEN) : An in-camera meeting of Pakistan’s Parliamentary Committee on National Security is set to take place today at the Parliament House in Islamabad. The session has been convened by Speaker of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Briefing on National Security
During the meeting, a detailed briefing on the country’s security situation will be provided to the committee members. The military leadership is also scheduled to present their assessment of the current security landscape.
The meeting will be attended by parliamentary leaders from all political parties represented in the National Assembly, along with their respective representatives. In addition, members of the federal cabinet will also participate in the in-camera session.
Heightened Security at Parliament House
To ensure the smooth conduct of the meeting, tight security measures have been implemented at the Parliament House and its surrounding areas. Law enforcement agencies have been placed on high alert to guarantee foolproof security during the session.
