ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has announced plans for a nationwide protest on Friday, condemning the ongoing violence in Gaza, which he attributes to US-backed Israeli actions.
Protest Against Israeli and US Actions in Gaza
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed strong condemnation of what he called the “worst acts of fascism” being carried out by Israel in Gaza, with backing from the United States. He pointed to the immense human cost of the conflict, with over 48,000 Palestinians, including many women and children, reported dead. He also highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where thousands remain trapped beneath rubble and the injured count in the hundreds of thousands.
Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
The JI leader emphasized that Gaza is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with extreme shortages of essential supplies like food and medicine. Rehman urged the international community to take immediate action to address the devastating situation.
Nationwide Protests Scheduled for Friday
In response to the crisis, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called for rallies in all major cities of Pakistan this Friday. He has encouraged citizens from all walks of life to join the demonstrations to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and protest against the actions of Israel and its allies.
The protests will serve as a platform for Pakistanis to voice their opposition to the violence in Gaza and to call for an end to what JI describes as “terrorism” backed by the US.
