ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Research Ruet-e-Hilal Council has predicted that Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be observed on Monday, March 31, 2025, marking the end of Ramadan. The council’s findings are based on the expected visibility of the Shawwal crescent, which will be born today at 3:58 PM.
According to the council, the moon’s age will exceed 26 hours by sunset on Sunday, which increases the chances of its visibility, provided the weather remains clear. The sighting of the crescent will be facilitated by the time gap between sunset and moonset, which will vary across Pakistan.
In Karachi, this gap will be 69 minutes, while Jiwani will experience a 71-minute difference. In Quetta and Lahore, the gap will be 74 minutes, and in Gilgit-Baltistan, it will extend to 78 minutes. These timings are crucial for observers to identify the crescent, confirming the end of the month of fasting.
The council emphasized that if the skies remain clear, the Shawwal moon will be visible to the naked eye, officially signaling the start of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
