ISLAMABAD (PEN) : At least four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred and three others injured in a powerful explosion in Quetta’s Margate area on Friday, in what marks another deadly assault on security forces in Balochistan.
Blast Occurred During Bomb Disposal Operation
The blast took place as a bomb disposal team was responding to an improvised explosive device (IED) discovered in the area. According to security officials, the explosion occurred while efforts were underway to defuse the device, directly targeting the deployed FC team.
Among the martyrs were *Subedar Shahzad Amin, **Naib Subedar Abbas, **Sepoy Khalil, and **Sepoy Zahid*, as confirmed by official sources.
Injured Troops Under Medical Supervision
Three other personnel—*Lance Naik Zafar, **Lance Naik Farooq, and **Sepoy Khurram Saleem*—were injured in the incident. They were swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility, where they remain under treatment. Medical staff have not released further details about their condition at this time.
Area Secured, Investigation Underway
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and initiated a large-scale search operation to locate those responsible. Officials say efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators behind the deadly attack.
The Margate bombing is the latest in a series of targeted assaults against security personnel in Balochistan, a province that has seen increased militant activity in recent months.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and vowed to take all necessary measures to bring those involved to justice.
