ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In light of the prevailing tensions along the Pakistan-India border, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced the postponement of several domestic tournaments.
Among the tournaments affected are the Grade II President’s Trophy, the Regional Inter-District Cup, and the Under-19 Inter-District One-Day Tournament. The PCB stated that these competitions will resume once the security situation improves.
A senior PCB official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the decision was taken following consultations with regional cricket associations and security agencies.
“The safety of players and officials remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty and mobility restrictions in certain areas, it was not feasible to continue the competitions at this time,” the official said.
The ongoing border situation between Pakistan and India has prompted heightened security measures in several districts, with increased military presence reported in parts of Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
