ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 will recommence on May 17, following the recently announced ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Tuesday.
Remaining Matches to Be Held in UAE
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that the remaining matches, including the playoffs and final, will be staged in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the final slated for May 25.
“The league will continue from where it was halted, maintaining the momentum for both fans and players,” said Naqvi. He reiterated the PCB’s commitment to preserving the spirit of the game.
The tournament was paused earlier this month amid escalating cross-border tensions that had raised security concerns for players and officials.
Current Standings Ahead of Resumption
Out of the scheduled matches, 27 have already been completed. Eight fixtures remain, including key playoff games and the final.
As the league prepares to resume, Quetta Gladiators lead the points table with six wins, two losses, and one no-result from nine matches—securing a spot in the playoffs.
Karachi Kings follow in second place with 10 points from five victories in eight games. Defending champions Islamabad United also sit on 10 points, currently in third place, though their recent form has dipped with four consecutive losses following an early five-match winning streak.
Lahore Qalandars* and Peshawar Zalmi occupy fourth and fifth place, with nine and eight points respectively. Multan Sultans, however, have been eliminated from playoff contention, managing only one win in nine outings.
Return Brings Relief for Fans and Players
The decision to resume the tournament has been met with relief from cricket fans and franchise stakeholders, as PSL remains one of the premier T20 leagues in the world. The continuation in UAE ensures logistical stability while allowing the league to conclude on schedule.
