ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening trilateral cooperation, aiming to enhance regional security, economic connectivity, and mutual prosperity. The key leaders from the three nations met in Beijing today for an informal trilateral dialogue.
High-Level Diplomatic Engagement
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the talks focused on increasing diplomatic engagements and taking practical measures to advance trade, infrastructure, and development.
The leaders highlighted the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as crucial platforms for fostering economic integration across the region. They also expressed a shared vision of extending CPEC’s benefits to Afghanistan, aiming to strengthen connectivity and drive regional economic growth.
