ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory forecasting rain and thunderstorms across various regions of upper Pakistan over the next 24 hours. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures to mitigate potential disruptions.
Affected Regions
The forecasted weather conditions are expected to impact the following areas:
Islamabad and Rawalpindi: Rain accompanied by strong winds.
Murree, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum: Rain and gusty winds.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Punjab: Strong winds and rain expected in Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, and Jhang.
Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Narowal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Sialkot*: Rainfall is also forecasted.
Weather Conditions
The PMD has warned of heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated locations, which may lead to localized flooding or traffic disruptions in urban areas. Meanwhile, most districts in Sindh will experience extremely hot and dry weather. However, coastal areas may witness strong dusty winds during the afternoon hours. In Balochistan, the weather will largely remain hot and dry, although light rain is possible in parts of Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Lasbela.
