ISLAMABAD (PEN) : China has firmly reiterated its stance that no country will be allowed to threaten Pakistan or compromise its sovereignty, underscoring the strength of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
In a recent interview with Turkish media, Professor Victor Gao, Vice President of the Center for China and Globalization, delivered a strong message highlighting Beijing’s commitment to Islamabad, especially in light of recent escalations between Pakistan and India.
“China will show the world that its friendship with Pakistan is unbreakable. No country will be allowed to intimidate Pakistan or infringe upon its sovereignty,” said Professor Gao.
Chinese Defense Capabilities Spotlighted
Professor Gao pointed to the performance of the Chinese-manufactured J-10C fighter jets during recent tensions as a significant marker of China’s growing military influence. He stated the aircraft, often underestimated by international analysts, proved capable of countering some of the world’s most advanced jets originating from France, Europe, and Russia.
“The performance of the J-10C should serve as a wake-up call for the entire world, especially the United States and Europe,” he said. “They’ve received a clear message: Do not provoke China.”
His comments come at a time when regional instability has drawn renewed attention from global powers, with China and Pakistan continuing to deepen their defense and diplomatic ties.
Enduring Strategic Partnership
Gao emphasized the longstanding and resilient nature of China-Pakistan relations, describing the two countries as being as close as brothers. He stressed that China’s backing of Pakistan extends beyond rhetoric, reaffirming Beijing’s position as a staunch ally in the face of external pressure or threat.
“China will not allow any country to threaten Pakistan or violate its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he asserted.
Regional Context
The statement comes amid heightened geopolitical developments in South Asia, where border tensions and military advancements have added to the complexity of regional diplomacy. Analysts suggest such comments signal a clear warning to rival powers and affirm China’s continued role as a key player in Pakistan’s strategic defense posture.
As both nations maintain close cooperation across defense, infrastructure, and economic sectors — particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) — Beijing’s latest remarks are seen as a reaffirmation of its unwavering diplomatic and security support.
