ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In a firm reiteration of its strategic alliance with Pakistan, China has vowed to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty in the face of any external threats, following a recent military clash between Pakistan and India.
Describing Pakistan as an “iron-clad friend,” Victor Gao, Vice President of the Center for China and Globalization, emphasized the growing depth of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defense sector. He underscored the role of Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets in the recent confrontation, calling their performance a demonstration of China’s evolving global defense capabilities.
“China will never allow any country to violate Pakistan’s borders or sovereignty,” said Gao, adding that the China-Pakistan alliance is no longer symbolic but operational.
J-10C Jets Showcase China-Pakistan Military Synergy
Highlighting Pakistan’s use of Chinese defense technology during the clash, Gao noted that the J-10C aircraft significantly outperformed several advanced jets sourced from Europe and Russia. He called it a clear signal to global powers, particularly the United States and its allies, about the strength of China’s military industry.
“The performance of the J-10C should serve as a wake-up call for the entire world, especially the United States and Europe,” he said. “They’ve received a clear message: Do not provoke China.”
The recent military developments, he said, reflect the success of China-Pakistan joint production and strategic defense coordination.
China-Pakistan Alliance: From Diplomacy to Operational Unity
According to Gao, the bilateral partnership has evolved beyond political alignment to a fully functional alliance aimed at maintaining balance and stability in South Asia.
“Our technology is battle-tested, our alliances are durable, and our tolerance for provocation is limited,” Gao asserted.
He described the current state of cooperation as a pivotal element in preserving peace and deterring regional escalation.
Criticism of Western Policies
In his remarks, Gao also criticized U.S. foreign policy, singling out the “Quad” alliance and Cold War-era containment strategies that, in his view, contribute to global instability. He called on Washington to reconsider its approach to international diplomacy and to adopt a stance that fosters peace.
Referring to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Gao condemned the U.S. for its silence over civilian casualties, labeling it a “shameful stain on humanity.”
“China stands for justice, and our partnerships — including the one with Pakistan — are based on mutual respect and a shared vision for regional stability,” he added.
