ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his country’s steadfast support of Pakistan during the recent escalation in tensions with India.
In a message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation following a meeting with President Aliyev in the city of Lachin, located in southwestern Azerbaijan.
“I was honoured to meet my dear brother President Ilham Aliyev today in the beautiful and serene city of Lachin. I thanked him for Azerbaijan’s unwavering support to Pakistan in the recent Pakistan-India conflict,” PM Shehbaz wrote.### Strengthening Bilateral Ties
The Prime Minister noted that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations in all areas, pledging continued cooperation for peace and prosperity across the region.
Highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations, PM Shehbaz emphasized the shared values and mutual respect that underpin the partnership.
“This exemplary spirit of brotherhood was guided by the love and affection between our peoples, whose hearts beat together,” he stated.
Concluding his message, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the enduring alliance between the two countries with a heartfelt declaration:
