ISLAMABAD (PEN) : On the 27th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the Services Chiefs, extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to defending the homeland.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Youm-e-Takbeer commemorates the historic day in 1998 when Pakistan successfully conducted nuclear tests, asserting its sovereign right to self-defence and restoring strategic balance in South Asia.
Tribute to National Resolve and Scientific Excellence
“This landmark achievement epitomises the resolve, unity, and determination of the Pakistani nation to live with dignity and peace,” the ISPR noted. The statement also honoured the visionary leadership, scientists, engineers, and all contributors who made Pakistan’s nuclear defence capability a reality.
The Armed Forces described Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal as a “national trust,” reflecting the collective will of the people and standing as a pillar of the country’s strategic deterrence.
Strategic Doctrine and Peaceful Intent
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to a doctrine of credible minimum deterrence, the military emphasized that the country’s nuclear capability is solely for defensive purposes and serves as a guarantor of peace and stability in the region.
“Youm-e-Takbeer reaffirms our steadfast commitment to preserving sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the ISPR said. “As responsible custodians of strategic assets, we underscore that these capabilities support peace — not provocation.”
A Call for Vigilance and Unity
The Armed Forces also called upon the nation to renew its collective pledge on this significant day. “Let this day renew our commitment to remain vigilant, united, and resolute in our dedication to the security, progress, and prosperity of our beloved homeland,” the statement read.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Pakistan, the Armed Forces concluded by honouring the sacrifices and vision that led to this milestone and reaffirmed their pursuit of national strength, self-reliance, and stability.
