ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, is scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to Hong Kong today, May 29, 2025. During this visit, he will participate in the signing ceremony of the Convention establishing the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed). The ceremony is set to take place on May 30, 2025.
Pakistan’s Role in IOMed
Pakistan has joined IOMed as one of its founding members. The country has expressed strong support for the organization’s objectives, recognizing its potential in facilitating peaceful and diplomatic resolutions to international disputes. The Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistan believes in promoting peace and security through adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter, implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, and international law.
