ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has extended heartfelt thanks to China for its consistent and unwavering support to Pakistan during periods of heightened tensions with India.
Acknowledging Diplomatic Solidarity
The minister made these remarks during a luncheon held in honour of the Chinese ambassador. Speaking at the event, Iqbal stated, “China has always stood with Pakistan during every hardship.” He emphasized that the Pakistan-China friendship is not circumstantial but a long-standing partnership built on “confidence and mutual respect.”
Endorsement of Regional Stability
During the gathering, Iqbal noted that the Chinese envoy acknowledged the “revival of peace and stability” in the region—a sentiment reflecting the current diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation in South Asia.
According to an official communiqué, the Chinese ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s conduct during the recent conflict with India, describing the country as a “responsible state.” The envoy reiterated that “permanent peace in the region will bring positive outcomes for Pakistan.”
Commitment to Development
The Chinese envoy also reaffirmed China’s full support for Pakistan’s development goals, underscoring the strategic cooperation between the two nations under frameworks such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
