ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) has issued a nationwide alert as five active weather systems are expected to bring widespread thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and heavy rainfall to several regions, with Islamabad and Rawalpindi forecast to experience the most intense impact.
Twin Cities Bracing for Heavy Storms
According to the NEOC, two major weather systems are converging over the federal capital and Rawalpindi, increasing the likelihood of intense rainfall and wind gusts between *6 PM and 11 PM* today. Scattered hailstorms and localised windstorms are also predicted in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north and southeastern Punjab.
NDMA Calls for Vigilance and Preparedness
In response to the severe weather forecast, the *National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)* has urged provincial and district administrations to enhance emergency preparedness, stay alert, and maintain coordination with local response teams for timely interventions.
A public safety advisory has been released, recommending that citizens:
Avoid unnecessary travel, especially in flood-prone or mountainous areas
Secure weak structures, rooftops, solar panels, and trees

*Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:* A weather system stretching from *Peshawar to Parachinar* is expected to cause thunderstorms, gusty winds, and downpours in *Peshawar, **Darra Adam Khel*, and nearby regions.
*Azad Jammu and Kashmir:* The area remains under the influence of a strong front from *Muzaffarabad to the Neelum Valley*, raising concerns of further storm activity and localized flooding.
