ISLAMABAD (PEN) : An Australian fitness athlete, Olivia Vinson, 34, has set a new Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups completed by a female in a 24-hour period, achieving an extraordinary total of 7,079 pull-ups. This performance nearly doubles the previous record of 4,081, held by Polish athlete Paula Gorlo since 2021.
A Remarkable Feat of Endurance
When first presented with the challenge by her husband and coach, Vinson admitted she was skeptical. “I thought there was no way,” she told Guinness World Records. However, after careful calculation, she realized the possibility and committed herself to the task.
Vinson’s path to success was not without difficulty. Her initial attempt was cut short after 12 hours due to a bicep tendon injury, forcing her to pause training for two months. Despite this setback, she resumed preparations and returned stronger for her second try.
Overcoming Physical and Mental Barriers
During the record-setting effort, Vinson battled extreme fatigue and nausea after 19 hours but maintained an impressive pace of approximately five pull-ups per minute. “My concern was whether my body would hold out,” she remarked.
Reflecting on her accomplishment, Vinson described it as a demonstration of human potential and perseverance. “I’ve achieved a number that I genuinely didn’t think was possible for me when I first came into this,” she said. “World records create a very tangible marker for human potential.”
