ISLAMABAD (PEN) : A total of 12 local dragon boat teams competed during the annual Dragon Boat Festival in Hele Town, Wanning City. Hele is considered one of the cradles of dragon boat culture in Hainan Province and was awarded the title of “China’s Dragon Boat Town” by the China Dragon Boat Association in 2015. Hele has kept up the tradition of holding dragon boat races since the Song Dynasty (960-1276).
