ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan has initiated a high-level diplomatic campaign aimed at countering India’s recent military posture and highlighting Islamabad’s commitment to peace, according to official sources. Two multi-party delegations have been dispatched to key world capitals including New York, Washington, Brussels, London, and Moscow to engage with global stakeholders over the escalating tensions.
Bilawal Leads Delegation at UN Headquarters
A delegation led by *Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari* is currently in New York, where it has held meetings with senior UN diplomats. During a two-day visit, Bilawal met *China’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Fu Cong, and **Russia’s Permanent Representative, Vassily Nebenzia. He thanked both nations for their support and briefed them on Pakistan’s measured response following the **April 22 attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK)*.
“India rejected Pakistan’s offer for a transparent investigation. Resolving the Kashmir dispute is essential for lasting peace in South Asia,” Bilawal stated in the meetings.
Delegations Engage on Key Issues: Kashmir & Indus Waters Treaty
The Pakistani delegation emphasized concerns over India’s actions, including what they termed *unilateral aggression* and the *suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT)*. The move, according to Pakistani officials, sets a dangerous precedent in the region.
Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik* warned of the humanitarian risks associated with disrupting the IWT, while *Hina Rabbani Khar* and *Senator Sherry Rehman* reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to diplomatic solutions grounded in international law and the *UN Charter*.
Washington, Moscow Engagements Underway
A parallel delegation led by *Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi* is in Moscow. The New York-based team is also scheduled to hold meetings in *Washington, D.C., including briefings with U.S. lawmakers, think tanks, and media. A key engagement with **U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio* is also planned.
According to the *Foreign Office, the campaign aims to showcase Pakistan’s *“restrained and responsible”** approach while urging the international community to encourage meaningful dialogue with India.
Pakistan Rejects Indian Accusations
Responding to recent remarks from Indian officials blaming Pakistan for regional instability, a *Foreign Office spokesperson* rejected the allegations and reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding position that the *Kashmir dispute is central* to achieving lasting peace in South Asia.
“India’s aggressive behavior and support for terrorism within Pakistan are well documented and cannot be concealed by hollow narratives,” the spokesperson said.
They added that bypassing the Kashmir issue would only increase mistrust and prolong the conflict.
Call for Peaceful Resolution
Pakistan has called on global powers to promote *restraint, dialogue, and adherence to international norms. The delegations have emphasized that peace in the region is unattainable without addressing **the aspirations of the Kashmiri people* and implementing relevant *UN Security Council resolutions*.
“We seek peace with dignity, strength, and diplomacy,” Bilawal told media during his visit, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to defending its *sovereignty and territorial integrity*.
