ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan’s security forces eliminated 14 India-sponsored terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Datta Khel, North Waziristan, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
Operation Conducted Over June 2-3
The operation was carried out between June 2 and 3 after credible intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists in the area. During the mission, Pakistani troops engaged the hideouts of the militants, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire that led to the *neutralization of all 14 individuals.
“Sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any remaining threats,” said ISPR. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to wipe out extremist elements from the country.
Linked Operations in Balochistan
This follows similar IBOs recently conducted in Balochistan, where seven terrorists linked to Indian proxy groups were killed in two separate operations.
On June 2, security forces launched an operation in Mach, Kachhi district, targeting militants affiliated with the group “Fitna al Hindustan”. Five terrorists were killed during that operation.
Another raid was conducted in Margand, Kalat district, where two more terrorists were neutralized. ISPR said weapons, ammunition, and explosives* were recovered from both sites. The militants were allegedly involved in multiple acts of terrorism across the region.
ISPR: Indian Proxies Undermine Regional Peace
Addressing the broader threat landscape, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry emphasized that India and its sponsored proxies pose a real danger to regional stability.
Speaking at Hilal Talks 2025, a gathering with educators, Lt Gen Chaudhry stated, “Balochistan could never be separated from Pakistan… India and its proxies are the real threat to regional peace.”
He highlighted the *financial and operational support* India provides to anti-state actors in Balochistan and claimed that India uses Afghanistan as a base to fund, train, and equip these elements.
Call for Peace and Progress
Lt Gen Chaudhry urged the youth of Balochistan to prioritize *education and development* over violence, asserting that with proper investment in education and employment, extremist influences will diminish.
“*Once children gain education and jobs, their influence will end,” he said, adding that Balochistan holds the potential to become **Pakistan’s richest province* if given the chance to prosper peacefully.
