ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Monday pledged that the forthcoming federal budget would focus on providing relief to the poor while fostering economic growth.
Economic Progress Under PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Leadership
Speaking ahead of the budget presentation, Aurangzeb acknowledged that transforming the economy takes time, saying, “It is not possible to change everything overnight; time is required.” He highlighted the “notable economic improvement” achieved under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s guidance and expressed the government’s commitment to maintaining this stability.
Forward-Looking Initiatives to Boost Growth
Aurangzeb added that several initiatives are underway aimed at propelling the country forward. However, he refrained from providing detailed comments on the budget before its official unveiling.
Budget Presentation Scheduled for June 10
The federal budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 is scheduled to be presented tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10. The National Economic Survey was released today, and the budget session timetable has been approved by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
